My concentration is influenced by the impact of the Monterey Pop Festival of 1967. I want to portray the movement the artist at the pop festival caused. They were pushing the boundaries and showing the youth of the world a new type of sound. Each piece expresses the feelings the songs give me and the feelings they gave the time of the late 1960's.
Molly- Good start to this. I LOVE the background and would want you to just go with the background that you have started and not feel like you have to insert the singer into it. If anything, I would citra-solve an image of the singer in the middle and work the citra-solved image into the background. The viewer will get it without you feeling like you have to realistically draw it. I want you to look at the work of Stuart Davis as he worked in an Abstract Expressionist style and painted jazz. You have a lot of good ideas so do not limit yourself with the idea that mark-making has to be realistic drawing!
