My concentration is influenced by the impact of the Monterey Pop Festival of 1967. I want to portray the movement the artist at the pop festival caused. They were pushing the boundaries and showing the youth of the world a new type of sound. Each piece expresses the feelings the songs give me and the feelings they gave the time of the late 1960's.
this looks really cool molly! i can see some tree-like structures emerging from the background with a sun in the back which is really cool! it maybe might be cool to outline some of the structures though
Good start to this assignment. I think you have the right ideas for your project work but they need to be developed more clearly. I would recommend a greater emphasis on differences in color values and intensities so that you have more of a push/pull with contrast. Otherwise, the image is very flat and does not necessarily demonstrate ambiguous space. You could allow the foreground to come closer to the viewer if it was more flame-like while the cool blue sky recedes?
I would just smooth out your colors for this piece. This is a good example of you deciding what your subject and what your background is and defining the differences between them. Smooth out your colors and i think youve got a good piece.
